Blue Bird volunteers are active across the San Antonio community, serving on the Board of Directors, volunteering at multiple non-profit agencies and organizations and demonstrating leadership and servant hood in countless areas.
Scholarships
Aside from individual contribution, the Blue Bird Auxiliary offer financial assistance to students pursing degree to work in a variety of healthcare fields. Scholarships are awarded annually to a select number of applicants that fulfill the eligibility requirements. The Blue Bird Auxiliary partners with the San Antonio Foundation in the recipient selection and administering of scholarship disbursements.
Grants
In addition to scholarships, the Blue Bird Auxiliary makes available grants to non-profit programs and services. Grant recipients are organizations that help support research, education and services that directly benefit medically challenged children and adults in San Antonio and the surrounding area. Grants benefit community non-profits as well as the Methodist Healthcare System. The grant application for 2024 is open February 1 – March 3.
