Volunteer Awards

Congratulations to Sue Vestal!

We are incredibly proud to celebrate Sue Vestal, a dedicated Blue Bird volunteer, as the Frist Humanitarian Award winner for Methodist Hospital!

The Frist Humanitarian Award is one of HCA Healthcare’s most meaningful honors, recognizing individuals who demonstrate an extraordinary commitment to caring for others and whose compassion, dedication and service extend far beyond everyday acts of kindness.

Sue has been a Blue Bird since 2017 and has made an incredible impact throughout Methodist Hospital and beyond. As Chair of the Blue Bird Sewing Committee, she helps lead the creation and delivery of hundreds of handmade items for patients each month, including heart pillows for cardiac and cancer patients, mastectomy pillows and drain pouches, children’s fish pillows, stuffed puppies, surgical caps and more.

Her service reaches well beyond the Sewing Committee. Sue supports the DAISY Award program, volunteers alongside her husband in the Patient Escort Office, participates in Blue Bird community service projects and gives her time to annual mission work in Honduras. Whether she is helping a patient, supporting a family, encouraging a fellow volunteer, or finding another way to serve, Sue leads with kindness and a genuine heart for others.

Sue’s dedication beautifully represents the Blue Bird spirit of Serving Humanity to Honor God. We are honored to call her one of our own and incredibly proud to celebrate this well-deserved recognition.

Congratulations, Sue, and thank you for the countless ways you continue to make a difference!
